“Sentient beings need a place to become themselves,
as a result of which separating the thing from its

The disproportion, centrality and often impersonal
and standardized design of workplaces today have
created a rift between life and work, sensibilities and
ef ficiency, between the individual and the task being
accomplished. As life under lockdown has seen
the lines between professional and private spheres

Feel humane again
encroaching upon life, we now yearn for a more
authentic and complete relation to work. Much the
same way I work, I live: maskless and unreserved.
And of fices will not be able to maintain this pretence
of a life divided in halves, they will have to vibrate
with humanity. In a society that, according to Edgar
Morin, tends to disconnect prose and poetry, the goal
is to allow professionals to live for both: ef ficiency
and the charm of life.
