For a dif ferent kind of society, the workplace

community, it is about care — which we just covered

— and vitality. Workplaces will be the catalysts

for it: sanctuaries of immaterial heritage, tellers of

corporate stories, benef iciaries of collective action

and interaction. In this age of cocoon civilization

and social slump, they will be fountains of energy. As

collaborators walk in, they will feel energized, f illed

with a sense of enthusiasm and shared purpose.

Of fices will have to ref lect the company’s history to

allow collaborators to have a broader perspective

on their daily tasks and f ind meaning in them. And

they will need to be bursting with life, places where

people can come to feel uplifted by collective energy.
